Baton Rouge Birth Photography | Woman’s Hospital
Words just can’t describe how magical this birth experience was. It had everything – Mom going into labor while Dad was working out of state, a mad dash to the airport, a last-minute flight almost missed, and a just-in-time arrival. We were all sweating dad’s timing. The medical staff at Woman’s hospital were absolutely wonderful – constantly comforting and reassuring Mom, keeping her calm and healthy while doing their utmost to ensure Dad got to see his baby boy come into the world. They even joined in on the weight-betting game that was going on!
It was so close, though – at one point I told Mom to not so much as sneeze or cough – and I was only half joking. She only pushed for probably twenty minutes after Dad made his grand entrance before Baby Dalton emerged, exercising his healthy little lungs. In the end, everything worked out perfectly – although there were a few stressful moments.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a circle of family and friends more happy to welcome a baby into the world – from great-grandma on down, Baby D made his entrance into a room full of love, and I was so happy to be a part of it all!
I loved that Dad was so pumped…and Mom was so exhausted and ready for it to just be done, already. 😉
The grandmas, texting updates!
Even the medical staff got in on the weight-betting action!
Counting fingers and toes!
Meeting great-grandma, while Mommy and Auntie discuss whose nose Baby D has. 😉
Baby D looks just like his cousin!
Mommy won!
