Spending time with the Berry family was so much fun. The day was filled with so many of the classic moments that define life with small children – there was ice cream, and pillow fights, and boo-boos and board games. Little Zion bonked his head falling off of the bed, and it was such a classic parenting moment when mom Kaysie soothed his tears with smiles and laughter. Don’t we all do that as parents? In that moment between head-bonk and melt-down, we attempt to distract and cajole and let our know that everything’s going to be okay – teaching our children that nothing’s ever as bad as it seems.
Little Ruthie wasn’t so sure about the prospect of cameras in her space at first, but she warmed up quickly. She tried her hardest to beat her brother at Candy Land, but was no match for Zion, who is apparently a Candy Land shark, according to Mom and Dad (who also went down in flames).
And of course, I think the kids’ favorite part of the day was the ice-cream sundae construction project. Ruthie had a little bit of ice-cream with her bowl of sprinkles, and both kids were more than happy to share with mom.
