So, pretty much no words that I have at my disposal are going to do this wedding photography justice. I met Julie about two years ago now. While in Texas visiting a mutual friend, and we hit it off immediately. She’s just one of those people that you meet, and one second you’re introducing yourself. Then the next you’re making snarky jokes and talking random TV shows with cult followings, and hanging out with hedgehogs (she has hedgehogs, seriously) and then you’re wondering how in the world you didn’t know this person existed, like, twenty minutes ago.
She is funny and sweet, and genuine and big-hearted, and totally my people, so of course when she asked me to shoot her wedding, I said yes. Because who wouldn’t, right?
Ryan and Jule’s relationship is so much fun to watch. They’re both funny, and quirky, and totally in love with each other. Julie’s not afraid to stare Ryan down with the wife-stare when he’s picking at her, and he’s excellent at knowing just where that line is between Julie’s indulgent-but-loving-annoyance, and full-on now-you’ve-done-it crazy.
It was close a time or two, but Ryan’s got that line handled, y’all. Which is basically when you know things are meant to be, right?
Anyway, I had way too much fun shooting this wedding – it was full of my favorite things: stories. From relatives sleeping under chairs, to poor McKenna-the-puking flower girl who didn’t make it down the aisle but held her own little private flower-throwing party afterward; to hokey-pokey-ing at the reception and grown adults playing on church playgrounds like children…every bit of it was magic.
Loved it.
Mean it.
