I think my favorite thing about Louisiana Family Photography is that there is absolutely, unequivocally no two families on this earth that are the same. Or even really very similar. Dynamics are constantly shifting – the tiniest members develop personalities with lightning speed. And as personalities develop, relationships do too. This style of photography is so much about photographing personality and relationships and memorable moments more than anything else. And that’s why documentary photography is my very favorite thing. Each family, and every member in it, are so unique, so I never feel like I’m photographing the same thing twice – I mean, the baby of this family was obsessed with *shredded* cheese, of all things. She ate the better part of an entire bowl. How funny is that??
Haley’s one of those moms who’s just completely down to earth, and funny, and loving, and not afraid to laugh at herself – even when she admits to not knowing how to make cookies from a mix. And she let her kids eat icing from the pouch without a shred of hesitation.
Who’s afraid of a sugar high? Not her.
And I just adore watching dads with their children – especially dads with daughters. Chuck absolutely cracked me up with his extensive knowledge of Shopkin play skills – and then immediately after playing with his girls for a bit, he proceeded to fall asleep on the bedroom floor. Allie had absolutely no compunction about waking him up, though!
And both Mom AND Dad were troopers about getting play makeup applied. <3
We played outside for a bit, and Jacob got his need for speed fix in, zooming down the backyard roller coaster. We played hide and seek behind curtains, and went crazy with blocks – all super simple, everyday activities that are going to be remembered by three precious, thoroughly loved little people years and years from now.
I’m so glad I got to be a part of documenting it. <3
