The Ray family and I braved the (brief) Louisiana cold recently, for their family session at the Hilltop Arboretum in Baton Rouge! It’s always a little rough getting up so early in the morning to get your photo taken, but everyone handled it like a champ – even Miss Maddy, eventually. She greeted me covered in stickers, which she’d managed to apply on the car ride over.
I love me some stickers, too, girl. And I certainly can’t take issue with whatever gets you through an early morning wake-up call.
We got some great shots, and I was especially excited about the shots of Maddy with her dad – something about a daddy’s girl just melts my heart. There are nothing buy boys, in my household! A girl’s gotta live vicariously.
Cameron did great too, helping out with keeping his sister all smiles – and looking handsome himself!
And, of course we couldn’t forget some couples’ shots for mom and dad. A lot of my family clients tell me they haven’t had formal portraits made together since they got married! I think every couple needs great photographs of themselves together, just the two of them. They–and their kids!–will appreciate those memories for years to come. <3
