Being a birth photographer is one of the most happy-fying jobs on the planet – I get to meet the very best people at the most important time in their lives, and be there with them as they welcome a little piece of their combined souls into the world. It gives me chills every single time.
This Birth Photography at Woman’s Hospital was certainly no exception – Whitlee and Ballard are two of the very sweetest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. No one deserves this happy, healthy little boy they grew together more than they do! While editing their images and putting together their video, I can’t even tell you how many times I teared up!
Kanon’s birth story was particularly emotional, because his dad has cystic fibrosis. I learned something new about the CF after meeting this family. Apparently, it’s next to impossible for a man with CF to have a baby without using IVF! Ballard was told as a child that he’d never be able to have children, so that made Kanon’s arrival extra-special.
Because the life expectancy of anyone with cystic fibrosis is shorter than average, I was extra humbled by the faith placed in me this day. These images are going to mean so much to Kanon one day.
Congratulations to the newly minted parents, and to little Kanon for being born such a lucky little boy. <3
Enjoy these beautiful pictures from this Birth Photography at Woman’s Hospital!
