Remember these guys? Gene looped me in on an elaborate scheme to propose to his girlfriend April a few months back. And this chick right here ended up hiding in various bushes to get super-stealthy moment-of-proposal shots (I seem to end up in bushes quite a bit, oddly enough – it’s becoming a regular thing).
Their engagement has made for the craziest story. One of my proposal shots ended up being featured in a BuzzFeed post. Tomorrow night these two will be on the local news being interviewed about their proposal story. AND (by crazy coincidence), I filled in for another photographer in photographing the wedding of Gene and April’s guitar player last weekend! That blog post will be coming soon. The wedding was so pretty.
Kind of a whirlwind, right? So it was only fitting that Gene and April’s official engagement photos were to be taken on a day when it was crazy foggy! I laughed just a little when I got to Rosedown Plantation to meet them. Because while I had been dying of excitement over the fog for the entire drive to St. Francisville. Gene and April were equally worried about “bad” weather for their shoot for their entire drive.
But I love it when anything out of the ordinary happens for a shoot. It makes for such unique and memorable shots! How many couples have engagement photos at Rosedown Plantation in dense fog? Very few probably, but as of now, one more!
