Baton Rouge Engagement Photography | Rural Life Museum

FILED IN: Engagement

The Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge is one of my very favorite locations when I photograph an engagement session. The buildings there are just the right mix of rustic and historic! That kind of backdrop makes for a memorable portrait session!

So, when Jacky and Sunny asked me to photograph them for their Save the Date cards, Rural Life was the first place I suggested! Neither one of these guys are from Louisiana. Jacky is from Florida, and Sunny is from Georgia! They were excited to get some very “Louisiana” images to show their friends. We definitely accomplished that, given the iconic southern scenery around us here.

Few places are quite as beautiful as Rural Life, at sunset. We photographed on the steps of the Orangerie, as well, which gave us a nice mix of images! We got a little bit of country, and a little bit of fancy!

And, guys – when I floated the idea for a water balloon fight, I was so thrilled when they said they were on board! At the end of our session, we headed back to their home to pick up their Murray. Of course, we had to get some photographs with him!

After that…well, it was war!

Jacky is a teeny bit of a competitive person, so when I say that she was out for blood, I am not kidding. Not even one little bit. 😉
