I shot this wedding for the uber-talented girls at Julep Studios, and what a perfect wedding it was! Brittany and Justin had a huge family come out to support them and show their love on their wedding day. The weather was chilly, but the sun was shining for their ceremony at Desert Plantation in Woodville, Mississippi – just over the Louisiana state line. The gorgeous sunshine hitting the Spanish moss made my little photographer heart flutter – it make for SUCH beautiful images after the ceremony was over!
I could get enough of the beautiful relationship between Brittany and Justin throughout the day – they were constantly looking at one another, and they were just so happy! I think my cheeks hurt by the end of the night, because I just couldn’t help but smile with them.
The storytelling elements of this wedding were just perfect – the two lovebirds and their family were so focused on one another, it was easy for them to forget I was there and just allow me to tell their story as the day unfolded. Brittany was really nervous before it was time to walk down the aisle, but her dad was there to comfort her – and Justin’s mom was there to give him one final pat on the back as a single man before he walked down the aisle. I LOVED capturing those moments!
The ceremony was SO MUCH FUN, too. Justin made a big production of dancing over to his bride to remove her garter, and Brittany totally rigged the bouquet toss – running that thing in to a single friend of hers like a linebacker!
After all the fun, though, the evening turned really, really sweet – I love watching and documenting the relationships on display at the reception, at a time when everyone can relax and enjoy the party. How in love were Justin and Brittany’s parents? Watching them dance with one another was SO adorable! Still in love after all their years of marriage – they set a great example for their children on a night they’ll remember forever.
