“There simply are not many grand moments in life, and we surely don’t live life in those moments. No, we live in the utterly mundane. We exist in the bathrooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and hallways of life. This is where the character of our life is set. This is where we live the life of faith.”
-John David Tripp
Documentary photography has always been my passion. Since first picking up my camera. I have dabbled in this, and dabbled in that, but I’ve always come back to it – it’s my lodestone, the way I see the world. The moments documented behind the lens of a camera will tell our stories to our children and grandchildren – they capture not just what we looked like at a particular time in our lives, but who we were. We aren’t just happy, smiling families with happy, smiling children – we are also all of the in between things. The in-between things are what make us who we are, and documenting them completes the story of us.
Jennifer and her family were pure magic – from a trash-digging toddler to a hoop-jumping big sister and an endlessly loving and patient Mama.
Jennifer, I hope these moments are ones that you and your family can look back on and relive your story through for years to come.
