I had an incredible amount of fun while shooting this very New Orleans Wedding Photography not long ago with my friend Andrea at Andrea Mabry Weddings. Corbie and Brian are westerners, who thought it would be a blast to do a destination wedding in New Orleans. They invited a small group of close friend and family to come witness their marriage on a New Orleans streetcar! How cool is that, seriously?
I started the day hanging with the guys, while they got ready. They were a hilarious group. By the way, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone quite so enamored of Zapp’s potato chips, as Brian’s dad was. Brian’s brother totally jacked the last of his liquid-courage-in-a-flask. Then we walked on over to Lafayette square, where we picked up the streetcar. This was after Brian (unsuccessfully) attempt to pay off a few bums to clear the background for family shots. As you’ll see, the bums came right back and made for interesting witnesses to the ceremony. 😉 That’s the great thing about New Orleans, you never know what’s going to happen, so it’s best just to embrace the city as it is!
After a short ride through town. We stopped on a dead track on St. Charles for the vows. The ceremony was sweet and meaningful. There is something so intimate about a small wedding. You don’t really get much more intimate, than being all together on a streetcar. In the middle of the city, while being watched by bums.
After the vows. The car started back up for a tour around the city. The out-of-towners were very entertained by random yard decorations. 😉
What? Californians don’t have skeletons in their yard year ’round?
The reception was held at Luke’s. A quiet, laid-back dinner full of amazing New Orleanean cuisine with friends and family (with the occasional entertaining toast), to complete the night.
Viva New Orleans. <3
Brian writing his vows.
Payin’ off those bums.
One can’t be on a streetcar and not take a selfie. Seriously.
Oh look, extra witnesses.
Sister almost got left behind. Oops.
Corbie’s something blue – a Grover Band-Aid.
Group selfie in 3…2…
This kid partied hard. And then crashed harder.
End of the night hotel-lobby dancing. The best.
