Baton Rouge Wedding Photography Cedar Post Barn Albany
When I say that Katie and Matt and I bonded from our very first contact, I am not exaggerating one bit. Katie showed up to our consult meeting with a planner containing swear words on the cover, and y’all – I knew then that we were going to get along fantastically. I think anyone that knows Katie and Matt know what I’m talking about – to know them is to instantly love them, and I don’t have words at my disposal extravagant enough to express just how much I <3 them.
Photographing the way that I do – photojournalistically – means that I am there for every second of every intimate moment throughout a wedding day, and that takes trust between photographer and subject. It means so much that Katie and Matt invited me into their lives (and on such a BIG day) not as a hired vendor for their wedding day, but as a new and trusted friend. Selecting images to show on the blog post was so hard, because seeing them both just burst with happiness all day in their image makes it next to impossible to pick favorites.
But, I did my  best, so here goes – the beginning of Katie and Matt’s beautiful story at Cedar Post Barn. <3
Katie watches her sister get ready.
Did you know that there’s such a thing as a vibrating makeup brush? Neither did Katie…until it touched her face.
Katie sees Matt’s groom’s cake for the first time.
The guys’ getting ready is never boring.
That moment when you realize that your co-ribbon girl is getting a braid in her hair and you aren’t.
YouTube is the modern day man’s best friend.
Comparing necklaces.
Shots! In tiny red Solo cups, no less.
Katie gets a hug from her grandmother just before her trip down the aisle.
I love the way that grandma looked at Katie. <3
Last-minute ribbon wand shananigans.
Matt couldn’t keep his eyes off of Katie.
TEARS.
A Cajun march! A first for me – guests trailed after the bride and groom around the dance floor, dancing as they went.
Seriously one of my favorite first dances ever.
Speeches are emotional things.
The car was FILLED with balloons!
Tiny, hilarious photo-bomber. I understand the impatience for cake completely, kid.
Katie makes the best faces!
Popping balloons, because, you know…gotta drive.
