What an emotion, moment-filled Wedding Photography day this was! I was so happy to be able to document these two’s wedding day last Saturday at Ashley Manor in Baton Rouge. I loved Jennifer and Gabe from the moment I met them, and their wedding day was every bit as wonderful as the they are.
Jennifer let me know at the start of the day that it may be a bit of an emotional one for their family – Gabe’s mom had very recently been diagnosed with cancer, and had undergone a chemo treatment just a few days before the ceremony. It had been a really emotional few weeks for them all, and they were just very glad that his mom felt well enough to come see him walk down the aisle. After meeting Gabe’s mom, I have NO doubt that she is absolutely up to the challenge of beating her diagnosis – she was warm, and sweet, and funny, and absolutely adored by everyone around her. Gabe’s dad was such a character, too – every time I looked at him, he had a smile on his face. They were both so proud of their son, as well they should be!
And how awesome is Jenny? She looked absolutely flawless, and she showed off her adorable dimples all day, smiling. She was so emotional at the altar with Gabe, both of them tearing up (and making me one happy girl with a camera, honestly) – and holy cow, did she tear up the dance floor at the reception! As a dance instructor, I figured she’d know a thing or two, but girlfriend certainly did not disappoint!
We finished the night with some awesome night-time portraits outside – these two were up for anything, and totally trusting of me – which is always an honor.
Okay, enough babbling – check out a few of my favorite moments from this wonderful day!
Spoiler alert – steaming dresses while wearing them often goes wrong. This time may or may not have been one of those times. 😉
Poor sister ended up with a slightly singled leg – but it certainly didn’t hold her back!
Gabe’s beautiful mom! His parents are both deaf – they were very sweet and patient with me throughout the day as my rusty ASL skills [slowly] came back to me!
I love when officiants are friends – it leads to some great connection moments!
See? Smiling all day. Who cares if it rained?
I love this image of Gabe watching his bride come down the aisle, eyes only for her. And mom looking on. <3
Mom wipes a tear just before dad gives Jenny away.
These two… <3
Gabe’s sister translated the ceremony for mom.
Gabe could NOT take his eyes off of her!
He was first to cry! I have photographic proof. 😉
And then Jenny followed suit!
That’s one smitten girl, right there. <3
Wedding tears are my fuel!
The grand entrance!
These two were cracking each other up during their father/daughter dance, it made my heart melt!
One of my favorite parts of the night was when Gabe’s mom decided to dance!
Gabe’s mom expressing her love for everyone at the end of the night. <3
These guys had everyone throw lavender at their exit! How fun is that? And I smelled absolutely amazing as I packed up my bags afterwards! 😉
