I’m so excited to finally show Allison’s bridal photography at the Old Governor’s Mansion! She looked *flawless*, and we had a blast just hanging out and getting some great images on the awesome staircase (and how about that chandelier?!)
The Old Governor’s mansion is such a great wedding venue – I’m pumped to be shooting Allison’s wedding there as well, and can’t wait to show you all the awesome images from the big day!
Choosing a venue for your bridal session is kind of a big deal, and I’m often asked for location ideas. I love the Old Governor’s Mansion because it is an iconic Baton Rouge location! Huey P. Long was its first resident, and rumor has it that he had it built to resemble the White House itself. A man with big political ambitions, ol’ Huey was said to have wanted to be “familiar” with the White House for when he took office!
Regardless of whether that’s actually true or not – the mansion is a great place to have your bridal portraits taken. The sweeping staircase, dramatic chandeliers, and mirrored ballroom make for a stunning backdrop. With a beautiful rose garden and a fountain gracing the outdoors, it has stunning outdoor options as well.
Having a venue with both indoor AND outdoor options? That’s a win in this crazy-weather climate we have down here, y’all.
